Course Description:
The LWGBD German course is designed to help students develop competence and confidence in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Each of the aforementioned strands is used in the units in which students will be engaged. There are 10 units in this course that require students to respond in written and spoken formats. When work is completed, students must upload it for assessment.

Students will learn to communicate about familiar topics related to their daily lives, personal interests, and practical situations. The course also introduces students to the cultures of German-speaking regions through authentic texts, media, and experiential learning.

Communication:
● Expressing ideas about personal interests, daily routines, and familiar topics
● Participating in dialogues and practical communication tasks
Language Skills:
● Development of all four strands:

● Building confidence in oral communication
● Strengthening grammatical foundations

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
● Communicate confidently in writing and speaking on a variety of familiar topics and apply basic grammatical structures accurately in context
● Perform practical dialogues in everyday situations
● Read and comprehend short texts from a variety of sources
● Demonstrate a growing understanding of German culture and traditions
