Prerequisite: LWGBD (Level 1) or equivalent.

Course Description: 

LWGCU is the German Level 2 University Preparation course, aligned with the Ontario Curriculum for Classical Studies and International Languages, and designed as a direct continuation of LWGBD. There are 10 units in this course that students are expected to engage in. This course moves students beyond basic communication to a more confident, independent use of German. 

• Curriculum Focus:

• Core Strands - Communication:

• Listening: Comprehending class dialogues, radio-media broadcasts, and short interviews.

• Speaking: Engaging in conversations about past, present, and future events and plans with improved fluency.

• Reading: Interpreting new language to expand understanding. 

• Writing: Producing a variety of paragraphs, journals, and formal letters using a variety of tenses and new vocabulary. 

• Learning Outcomes:

• By the end of the course, students will be able to:

•  Communicate more fluently and confidently in writing and speaking on a variety of topics and apply grammatical structures accurately in context.

•  Perform and engage fluently in dialogues in everyday situations.

•  Read and comprehend a variety of texts based on various sources.

•  Demonstrate a more profound and proficient understanding of German culture, traditions, and everyday life in Germany.
